Traveling Through Recession
Spending on unnecessary goods and services is still expected to decline even further. This trend has so far driven even big companies like General Motors into dire financial straits. The travel and airline industry has also so taken a very big hit of late, as made apparent by the numerous cost-cutting measures companies are using. But just because the economy isn't doing so well doesn't mean that you have to cancel all your plans to travel.
Questions at the Starting Line
Yes, it is possible to have something as seemingly unnecessary and frivolous as travel in this ailing economy. After all, just because the stock markets crashed and the banking system is in a tizzy doesn't mean that you're left completely penniless. It's just that you now have to face additional financial realities, and then somehow get around each one. Here are some questions you may want to address before finalizing your travel plans.
Do you have debts? This is a very important question, especially if you joined in the nationwide, credit card-fueled spending spree of the last several years. Pay your debts before booking your flights. Traveling with an already considerable debt to the banks will just add to that debt and increase your interest payments. Isn't paying for that debt already hard enough as it is?
Do you have financial security? Addressing this question means you'll have to look at your balance in the bank and assess your current employment. Do you have enough to support yourself for a month, if need be? Do you have the security that your job will remain yours, at least for the next few years? You need to be able to answer affirmatively to both questions before traveling becomes a sensible option for you.
Never, ever travel without first having a financial safety net like insurance or funds in the bank stored up. Not only is traveling a costly pastime, but it's downright dangerous to find yourself in a compromising situation in a foreign land without a cent to your name.
The Power of Planning
Don't ever underestimate the power of planning and acting ahead. While many other travelers pooh-pooh at or underestimate the process of planning trips, it's actually the best and surest way for you to reduce expenses and optimize your cash. Planning and booking ahead, for example, will get you much lower rates for airfare than if you were to get a ticket tonight for a plane that leaves tomorrow.
Hotels and other accommodations typically work the same way. Reserving and making arrangements several weeks beforehand could get you bigger discounts or better amenities, especially if you negotiated with the management. Early action will save you oodles of money at every step of the way and in every leg of the trip.
An economy going through a recession doesn't necessarily make travel impossible. If anything, it only makes travel a little more difficult. But if you're confident about your finances and meticulous about your travel preparations, then the downward economy shouldn't stop you from taking to the sky.

Medical Travel - Precautions You Need to Take
* WHO website for International Travellers.
* WHO India
Yellow Fever
Any person (including infants) arriving by air or sea without a certificate can be detained in isolation for a period up to 6 days if arriving within six days of departing from an infected area or has been in such an area in transit, or has come by aircraft which has been in an infected area and has not been disinfected in accordance with Indian Aircraft (Public Health) Rules, or those recommended by WHO. Various countries in Central and South America and Africa are regarded as being infected, enquire at the concerned Indian Mission for an up to date list. When a case of yellow fever is reported from any country, that country is regarded by Government of India as infected with yellow fever and is added to the above list.
Malaria
Malaria risk exists throughout the year in the whole country excluding parts of the states of Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir and Sikkim. No certificate is required, but a course of anti malaria pills is recommended for all travellers to India.
Protect yourself from insects by remaining in well-screened areas, using repellents (applied sparingly at 4 hour intervals), and wearing long sleeved shirts and long pants from dusk through dawn.
Cholera
Travelers proceeding to countries that impose restrictions for arrivals from India or from an infected area in India on account of cholera are required to possess a certificate. In any case, an inoculation against cholera is recommended.
General Tips
* Drink only bottled or boiled water, or carbonated (bubbly) drinks in cans or bottles. Avoid tap water, fountain drinks, and ice cubes. If this is not possible, make water safer by both filtering through an “absolute 1 micron or less” filter AND adding iodine tablets to the filtered water. “Absolute 1 micron filters” are found in camping/outdoor supply stores.
* Buy bottled water from respectable outlets to guard against stomach upsets. Some of the better known brands are Bisleri, Kinley, Aqua Fina, Himalaya etc. Make sure that the seal of the bottle is intact.
* Watch out for spicy dishes, especially at the outset of your tour. Avoid eating food from road side stalls. Eat unpeeled fruits and avoid fresh salads, especially in small hotels. If you are forced to eat food at some place that you have doubts about, make sure the food is served hot.
* Always use an insect repellent if you find yourself in a mosquito-prone area. But remember, not every place is mosquito-infested and low temperatures in winters (when most tourists come to India) kill most bugs in the northern plains and hills.
* If traveling in scorching heat, remember to drink enough water, use hats, sunglasses & UV lotions. Do not venture out in the mid day sun.
* Pharmacies or chemists are available in every little town and village and you can buy medication. In case you need to see a doctor for a specific condition, ask for help from your hotel (most have doctors on call) or your tour operator. The cost of visiting a doctor is fairly low(less than a dollar) compared to western countries.
Health Kit
In India, most modern medicines are available over the counters in drugstores, but it is wise to travel with a reserve stock. If any prescription drugs are required, bring enough for the duration of the trip. It is advisable that you carry a small health kit which should include remedy for upset stomachs, some antiseptic cream, mosquito repellant cream, suntan/uv lotion, etc.
Caution: This document is not a complete medical guide for travelers to this region. Consult with your doctor for specific information related to your needs and your medical history; recommendations may differ for pregnant women, young children, and persons who have chronic medical conditions.

Truth in Travel Pricing
"Massive discounts on cruises were exposed as a con last week after leading line Fred Olsen admitted it had not sold a single cruise at full price for a year."
A further quote from the managing director of the line, Mike Rodwell:
"the big American operators started it and the rest had to follow."
Another surprise. On the same laptop page as this excellent article were three Google ads offering:
"Cruise Deals. Search The Top Online Cruise Deals. Read Reviews & Book Online Today." Followed by:
"Cruise Discounts 75% Off, All cruise lines, all destinations." And another:
"Huge Alaska Cruise Sale, Free Upgrades, Exclusive Deals & More with Guaranteed Lowest Prices!"
The travel operators behind these advertisements must think the travelling public is naive or even stupid but they would probably not use them if they did not work.
Also, these Google ads were run against a very negative, but truthful article about misleading advertising for cruises.
The travelling public continues to be treated with disdain by travel operators and advertising companies, not only by cruise lines and airlines but by all types of travel suppliers. What could be more misleading and false advertising than an airline advertising their fares in headlines that shout out:
"$49. one-way to Smithville" IN LARGE PRINT, and then: 'based on return purchase, plus all taxes, surcharges for fuel, surcharges for security, checked baggage is extra, seat selection fees, and on and on and on." And by the way, have fuel surcharges been reduced enough?
Not only cruise prices and airfares but also consider hotel pricing that often requires much investigation as regards the offered discounts:
"75% off! But off of what? A rack-rate that is rarely charged?
And, why can you often get cheaper rooms at an online reservation office than at the hotel front desk even when you are in their lobby and ready to book?
Next in line for pricing questions could be the packaged holiday market. How many of these are sold at the brochure price? Or, as with the above cruise line, are packaged tour operators simply following the lead of others?
Not only is the public being mislead by questionable advertising and pricing practices but once captured by a cruise line, airline or packaged resort operator they can be open to additional gouging whilst onboard the ship, aircraft or resort.
Apart from the onboard costs of alcoholic drinks which should be at duty-free prices (i.e. cheaper than onshore). Extras, such as shore excursions can also be more expensive when purchased onboard rather than ashore or even pre-departure using the internet. Similarly with resorts that have onsite booking agencies for off-resort activities. The prices are often cheaper when purchased directly from the operators or again at pre-departure directly over the internet. Airlines however, who are charging for all sorts of basic amenities from blankets, pillows, soft drinks and soon even water may not be free, have a more captive audience (the movie, ConAir comes to mind) and will continue to be the most reviled part of the travel experience.
There is hope for the future but so far only in Europe. In 2009 new rules for advertising standards will come into effect offering more protection for travellers. We must hope that these new rules will eventually spread to the rest of the world with further improvements to protect consumers worldwide.
In the travel industry. Where has the originality and creativity gone? Where are the leaders? Where has "lead, follow or get out of my way" gone? Only the followers know.
Another aspect of travel pricing is when consumers want to handle their own travel arrangements directly with the operators of hotels, lodges, tours and transportation. The pricing should reflect the fact that the products are being purchased directly from the source and not at the retail level. In other words, reduce the price by the commission that would have been paid to an agent, broker or retailer and give the traveller a direct booking discount. This action could encourage more travellers to make their own direct bookings, leading to more business and a competitive edge for the operator.
Of course, the traditional distribution channels have to be protected as many consumers require help and assistance and as yet not everyone has or wants the internet.
Travel providers do not normally show different prices on their websites as this could lead to potential clients seeking advice at the retail level and then booking directly with the operator to get a discounted price. It is unfair for retailers to lose their commissions when they have performed services for their travel-trade clients.
Consumers on the other hand, if they do not need expert advice or booking services, should have the opportunity to go directly to the source and get a direct booking discount.
Originality and creativity has returned to the travel industry. Travel providers are now able to offer travellers a direct booking discount service by using a new travel voucher system that has been introduced. With a website and the internet they can now reach out to the global travel community, not just travel agency or local traffic.
Any travel operator, from the smallest b&b to the grandest lodge or luxury tour, can offer this service. The voucher values represent the normal commissions that would have been paid out to sellers of travel but now will be given back to the buyers of travel. And, the discounted price does not have to show on their websites.
The service is leading with this new initiative and now wants to promote the thousands of small travel providers and other businesses around the world that do not use selling agents and therefore do not have sales commissions built into their pricing. The operators of the voucher service suggest that lower yields with higher volumes of direct booking discount travellers may achieve better overall returns.
Members of a new online travel club can get these vouchers free with membership and non-members can purchase them at deep discounts to their face values at another similar website. At present there are vouchers covering travel in over seventy countries from b&b's to adventure and luxury tours.
The Club operators say that they do not charge businesses for listing their services as long as they participate in issuing vouchers enabling members to get direct booking discounts.
There are many directories linking the world of travel to the world of travellers but this new concept offers a directory with discounts on every travel selection if you are willing and able to handle your own travel bookings and arrangements directly with the listed operators.
The club operators are aware that many travel operators will continue to adhere to the business style of Mike Rodwell of Fred Olsen Lines and will continue to follow rather than lead and it is unlikely that they will ever be represented by this travel club. They are also aware that there are enough independent travel businesses that will find that their new business style of expanded selections and direct booking discounts is a better way of offering travel directly to consumers around the world.

Travel Tips For Majorca Holidays
The island offers buildings, architecture and landmarks, as well as miles of coastline. Palma is the capital of Majorca with a long Moorish history. For beach lovers, Alcudia is a family favourite, famed for its beaches which include a 15km golden sand beach. Cala d'Or is quieter and is set in small rocky coves, with sandy beaches shadowed by pine trees.
Es Trenc has a superb beach with a peaceful location, three kilometres of white sand and azure sea.
Lletas also offers an excellent family holiday with fine, sandy beaches and a handful of bars and restaurants. Cala Fornells is a quiet beach resort, Puerto d'Antratx is located on the harbour side and the sandy beaches at Camp de Mar and Peguera are close to this location. Sa Coma is modern and quiet and has a fabulous white sandy beach. Former fishing village, Cala San Vicente on the north coast has sandy beaches leading down to beaches set between cliffs. There are over 90 beaches available, but Majorca also offers other attractions including a growing number of golfing opportunities.
On Majorca Holidays you can also visit Marineland's for their dolphin and sea lion shows. Children's beach is ideal for families and for those who want to travel around, an antique train travels the 17 miles between Palma and Soller. Beach Poble Espanyol, in Palma is a typical Spanish village showing different styles of architecture, with reproduction houses from Cordoba, Toledo and Madrid together with typical houses from the Spanish regions. For those who want to see some of the history of the region, Palau de l'Almudaina in Palma is a royal palace from the times of the Arab conquest.
Accommodation is mainly for the package-tourist, with a whole host of cheap and luxury hotels near to every beach and there is also a wide choice of fully equipped apartments, and aparthotels to suit any budget.

Too Old to Travel?
Insurers claim that people over 60 are three times more likely to claim on their travel insurance than those under 50, which means their policy will cost them up to 3 1/2 times as much as a younger person. With the likelihood of elderly people claiming on their insurance, it is understandable that their policies would be higher, but many (perfectly healthy) older travellers feel discriminated against at these high prices. For some elderly people, the cost of travel insurance may not concern them- as many insurance providers will refuse to cover people at all if they are over 70. This has caused outrage in many pensioners as they feel as though they are attacked with ageism. Insurers claim that it is ludicrous to travel without insurance, even though they may not offer it to older people. Surely it is not ethical to confine the older generation to their home country?
Some companies specialise in offering different types of insurance to the elderly, but do come at a slightly higher price. Make sure you find a company who will insure you for any existing medical conditions that may affect you on your holiday. Again, this will probably add cost onto your insurance, but could be very useful if you do need to claim.
Remember to always shop around when buying holiday insurance Compare travel insurance online to get a good understanding of the market and the offers that some companies may include. If travelling more than once during a year, take out annual travel insurance, which will save you money rather than buying single travel insurance for each trip.

5 Tips on Preparing For World Travel Cruises
* Educate Yourself on World Travel Cruises
* Take Your Time Deciding
* Get Tips and Advice from Seasoned Travelers
* Explore Seasonal Promotions and Specials
* Plan for Enjoyment and Relaxation
Educate Yourself on World Travel Cruises
There's so many websites today for world travel cruises you can get all the information you need to make an informed decision about your cruise. Information about what to bring, when the ship departs and from which port, is available to you and it is with just a mouse click away. You will have fun exploring the various cruise lines and your excitement will increase with each exploration. World travel cruises are a great way to see the many exotic ports and diverse countries around the globe and educating yourself before you decide which cruise to take will give you a measure of assurance you have made the right choice.
Take Your Time Deciding
Selecting, planning and preparing for world travel cruises can be an intimidating experience with all the different cruise lines, options and prices. The pre-cruise decisions can be pain free if you take a few moments to consider some very important factors. Ask yourself; why you want to go on a cruise in the first place. Follow up with; what do you expect to be doing while on the ship or during port of calls. You are an individual with preferences, expectations and desires; be assured if you take your time and think over your preferences you can match them to the right cruise even from among a host of world travel cruises.
Get Tips and Advice from Seasoned Travelers
If you have ever been around someone just returning from a cruise then you know how they love to talk about the exciting adventures they had on their trip. Well these folks don't just tell others in person, they do it online as well. You can access some of these message boards, web-logs and chat rooms to ask these seasoned travelers some questions you might have about cruising. Considering they have been there they can give you first hand knowledge about what to expect, etc. Some folks even write reviews on world travel cruises where you can read for yourself how well different cruise lines perform in meeting their passenger's comforts and expectations.
Explore Seasonal Promotions and Specials
Just like many tourist industries, cruise companies need to market their services to attract new passengers to fill up rooms on the ship. This means the cruise lines provide special promotions and discounts for passengers. Many world travel cruises have fantastic specials and promotions which can save you thousands of dollars without detracting from the amenities and benefits of your cruise experience. World travel cruises do not have to break the bank if you take the time to hunt around and explore the seasonal or special promotions. Consider changing your travel schedule if a substantial discount is available and if your itinerary is flexible enough in allowing you to take advantage of the special promotion.
Plan for Enjoyment and Relaxation
Two of the key components of world travel cruises are enjoyment and relaxation. But some folks have to make a concerted effort to remain stress-free during their cruise. You can save yourself a lot of stress by keeping in mind during the planning of your cruise, that although you are seeking adventurous and exciting excursions, you don't want to be so busy that you can't enjoy yourself. If you plan too much in a short period of time you can be running around as busy as you usually are at home. World travel cruises should be relaxing and enjoyable while creating an opportunity to experience some of most wonderful and memorable moments of your life. Take a deep breath, relax, and let the captain steer the ship!

Travel Rewards Credit Cards - The Lowdown
If you like to take your family on a lot of vacations or like I said, your businesses require you to travel, you should really look into getting one of these cards. As long as you're disciplined enough to use a credit card and you pay it off in full each month, you can really take advantage. The card works in simply ways. Every time you spend a dollar, you're going to get "airline miles". Depending on the card you use will depend on how many miles you get. For example, the card I use, I need 25,000 miles for a round trip airline ticket but I get 3 points per dollar, so in the long run, I don't need to spend $25,000 but rather a 1/3 of it.
When you're looking to apply for a travel card, look for a card that will allow you to get free miles just for signing up. In fact, there are some cards out there that will allow you to get a free ticket just for filling out an application. You can't beat that deal at all! Get your wife to sign up as well and you'll have two tickets in your pocket just for a credit card application.
Now that you know a little bit more about travel reward credit cards, go out there and find a card that suits your needs. Start using it and you'll be getting free airline tickets in no time.
If you want to find the best airlines credit cards for you and your family, visit FINDairlinecards.com, where you'll also find more of Tom's work.

How to Travel With Suit and Tie
The right way to pack Packing your business clothes the right way isn't an easy task. How can you prevent wrinkles in your suit, dress shirts, and ties, and still manage to pack everything in a tiny carry-on bag? Be realistic with what you need on your trip. If you are going on a business trip abroad for a two-week time period, you might want to think about checking your bag instead. The key to prevent wrinkles in your suit and dress shirts is by not over stuffing your suitcase. Also, create a cushion for your most delicate clothes such as suit, dress shirts, and ties. This will help you prevent wrinkles. Especially tricky are dress shoes. Keep them as far away from your garment as possible. Some carry-on bags have a second pocket especially designed to store your shoes.
Garment Bags The best way to prevent wrinkles in your suit is by using a garment bag. This is especially recommended if you are going straight from the airplane to the event. If you do have time before wearing your suit and tie, and if you are staying in a hotel, it is less critical. Chances are the hotel offers a dry-cleaning service. Before leaving your clothes at the Hotel's dry-cleaner, make sure to check on their turn-around time. If there isn't enough time, try the following trick: Hang your suit and shirt in the bathroom while taking a hot shower. The steam of the shower will help straighten out the fabric. If this still doesn't work, look for an iron. Most hotels have irons and ironing board in each room. Keep in mind that suits should not be ironed. Dress pants can be ironed, but depending on the fabric, it is recommended to use a lower heat setting. Most dress shirts are made from cotton or linen. They can be ironed with no problem -even at high heat. When ironing your dress shirts, sprinkle some water on the fabric. The heat of the iron will steam-off the water causing even the toughest wrinkles to disappear.
Traveling with Neckties Neckties are your most delicate pieces of clothes. They are usually made from finest silk, and cannot be ironed and should never be dry-cleaned. This means that preventing any wrinkles in first place is a must. To do this, fold your ties in half and store them between some soft clothes. Keep any sharp edges away from your neckties as this can damage the fabric and can cause wrinkles. Rolling up your ties is another option. Start by rolling up the tie at the skinny end. Once rolled up, store the tie in one of your dress shoes.
Unpacking Keep the time your clothes are in your suitcase to the minimum. No matter how tired you are from your travel, unpack your suit, dress shirts and ties as soon as you arrive. Hang them onto a hanger in a well-ventilated room. Chances are the clothes will look perfectly straight when you wake up in the morning.

The Best Time to Travel to Akumal Mexico
Obviously, high season is when dry season is happening. Dry season begins in the middle of December and lasts through April. The weather is pleasant, with the average temperature being 80 degrees and every day is sunny. It's almost guaranteed the every day will be a beach day, diving day or day for exploring the jungles and ruins of the area. It's also guaranteed that hotel rooms and villa rentals are a lot higher in high season, and shop owners are less likely to want to bargain when selling their wares.
Low season is rainy season and that lasts from late April through November. It used to be the case that accommodations during low season were much cheaper to come by in Akumal and throughout the region because of rainy season, but with the area's increasing popularity, hotels and other accommodations are less likely to come down too much in price as people are willing to chance taking the trip during low season. You will still have less crowds and it will be easier to find accommodation during the low season. However, extreme discounts like 50% off on hotels and other accommodations are a thing of the past.
There are deals to be found during low season if you are willing to take the chance on the fact that there will be rainy weather, and when there is no rain, temperatures can soar to a sweltering 110 degrees. There are fewer tourists in town during low season as compared to high season, so this can make access to the jungle tours, ruins, accommodations and wildlife preserves a little easier. While fewer hotels are slashing their prices during low season, there are cheap accommodations that can be found if you do a little homework.
If water temperature is important to you, traveling during low season may be a better option. While the weather during high season is dry and pleasant, many find the water temperature of the ocean too cold to comfortably swim and snorkel in. The low season offers hotter temperatures and the water is a lot warmer. People who want to take advantage of swimming in the natural sinkholes known as cenotes will appreciate an icy dip in these fresh water sources that dot the landscape surrounding Akumal. They can be refreshing on a hot 100 degree day, but may be too cold for bathers in the high season.
Choosing when the best time to travel to Akumal depends on your preference. High season offers sunny weather, dry conditions but very cold water for swimming. Low season offers extremely hot temperatures and the possibility of a lot of rain, but warm water for swimming and snorkeling. Whichever season you travel to Akumal in, you are bound to enjoy this beautiful town located in the Riviera Maya on the Yucatan Peninsula.

Different Ways to Travel Around the World
First and foremost the biggest and quickest form of travel is by air, whether this be aeroplane or helicopter. Air travel is now a multi million pound industry and has grown leaps and bounds over the past few years. The most major impact in the last decade would have to be in the form of budget airlines. Budget airlines basically offer a no frills alternative which will give you a massive saving on your pocket.
Next we take a look at the option for travelling by rail; although the trip may be considerably longer you will reap a whole new world of benefits. Not only will you be able to view the different aspects of scenery surrounding you. But you will also get the chance to jump off the train, for a few hours and take in the sites of each magnificent location.
Finally if you are feeling totally adventurous, you will be able to travel to your destination by car. Travelling by car is a great way to see how different societies live, and to take in different cultures. Being able to stop in each town, throughout each country is a great experience, but just make sure that before you leave for your destination, that you have a perfect working car, as you do not want to be left stranded in the middle of no where.
There are hundreds of more ways to explore the world such as cruises, which will in fact give you a wonderful sea experience. You can get various cruises that will take you to the Caribbean islands, as well as other different tropical islands. Besides that you can also go canoeing around the world or motor biking or even pedal biking. The possibilities are endless and who knows where we will be travelling in another century. Possibly the option of space travel, and space paradise would be an option for many people, we may well see budget space travel come into act, giving everyone the opportunity to see the earth from a different view.

International Travel Tips For Women
Some handy tips and really useful advice can help women a lot. Women need to be very cautious while traveling to unknown and far off places. There are some basic tips that can be easily implemented to make the tour safer. As for the basics, one thing that you must keep in mind while commuting in an unknown place is to avoid the lonely and deserted areas. Always aim for a well trafficked street that has the best of transportation, ample restaurants and crowds. The best way is to ask your hotel's female employees about this. Take care not to mention your personal details like name, room number etc. loudly so as not to make yourself heard to anyone. Never write down your room number or any details on any envelopes or public documents that can be accessed by anyone.
Try to stay away from people who seem to be hanging around the elevator area. Another most important thing that you must keep in mind is to look for a parking place that is well lit and guarded. Always take along a security doorstop for extra protection while staying in hotels. While roaming around a foreign place, always study the road map beforehand. Carry just one or two credit cards while shopping around. Another thing that women travelers need to remember is to carry larger and smaller currency in different pockets to avoid exhibiting wads of currency at public places. If you wish to ask for direction, then, approach women for safer information as you would not be unnecessarily misled.
While walking on sidewalks, keep your handbags and other valuables away from the street side. If you are in for an overnight flight, it is best to stack all the valuables in a waist pouch. Try to be close to your valuables during airport security checks. Always vouch for authority approved taxi. Always use prepaid cards and save local police contact number in the speed dial. If you feel like someone is chasing you, do not stop until you reach some well lit and crowded area. If possible, park in a way that you do not need to back out to make way for a speedy departure.
Always carry a small, durable flashlight and extra batteries with you while traveling. Avoid any sort of bling so do not wear flashy or expensive jewelry. In case, someone tries to snatch your handbag or any valuables, it is best to let go and then cry out for help. Do not attempt to take on single handedly. Another thing that women traveler need to understand is to gain knowledge of dressing etiquettes of the place. Try to be in sync with the local dressing sense to avoid attention. One more important thing is to stay alert even in public places as pickpockets often chose their targets at such places.
All in all, caution and staying alert is the key to safer travel. Do not let the dangers dampen your travel spirits as the beauty of the world will calm away the feelings of danger. Go, explore the world but be on the safer side.

Health Benefits of Travel
If this sounds like you, then you desperately need a vacation! Throw caution to the wind and stop worrying about waiting until you have enough money to throw away. The health benefits of travel are as extensive as the world itself. A vacation can give you a much-needed break from the stresses of your life and rejuvenate your spirit. Plus, it will save valuable money in the long run by preventing doctor bills, sick days and the buildup of stress that can hijack your life.
Traveling is an important part of life and necessary to survival. Taking a break from the daily routine relieves stress simply by providing a change of scenery. The excitement of getting ready for a trip can be a euphoric experience and the anticipation will take your mind off daily petty problems that often seem larger than life. Getting away from your daily experience helps to put your life in crystal clear terms and allows you to redefine what you find important.
The stress relief benefits of traveling are amazing. Getting out of the grind gives you the ability to rest and relax because you're miles away, free from your responsibilities. As women, we often overextend ourselves to take care of everyone's needs before our own. You may not realize it, but work, family and your daily routine can zap most of your energy and can require all of your attention. Getting away gives you the chance to listen to your inner voice and to simply do what you want to do. Traveling frees the mind and puts the body at rest.
Traveling gets the blood flowing because it requires you to be active. Regardless of if you are laying on the beach, swimming in the ocean, walking the streets of a historic city or riding the subway - you will be doing something! You'll turn the television off, shut down the computer, and get outdoors. The sunlight is rejuvenating, and your desire to experience all your destination and its people have to offer will motive you to be active. An active body leads to an active mind, and both of them will get a workout on your next vacation.
A getaway also provides the opportunity to experience a different culture. Being immersed in a new locale will put your life in perspective. You will meet different people with fresh experiences and ideas, showing you how vast the world truly is. The new setting will provide the anonymity and lack of responsibility we all need at times, ultimately freeing you to enjoy yourself. New people will also invigorate you with new energy and you'll learn the different ways that people accomplish the same goals, offering new ideas that you have never thought of before. A different social setting will be stimulating and invigorating too, and it will help you to appreciate your unique self and all you have to offer. Traveling keeps your mind and body young, fueled by new energy. An added bonus for those traveling with a companion is strengthening the bond you share together.
When you travel, the tasty new food, breathtaking new sights, and excitement of different sounds will help to create new memories. The delectable eateries, luxurious and one-of-a-kind shopping, internationally renowned museums, ancient architecture, pristine beaches, rugged mountain tops and exotic locales will combine to create a lifetime experience that you can discuss for years to come. The euphoria, excitement, and freedom you feel when you step away from your daily living are priceless. The photos will capture the settings in time, but the even more, the memories, smells, sights and sounds will stay with you forever.
The benefits of travel are vital to your mental, physical, and spiritual health because travel is necessary to help us cope with life and get a break from all of the responsibility a hectic life places on us. You deserve to get away; you must get away! Throw caution to the wind, contact your travel agent and pack your bags. A beautiful city, exotic beach, rain forest, or snow-capped mountain awaits you. I guarantee your mind and body will thank you for it!

Details About Working With an Online Travel Agency
Quite simply, you should be able to find an online travel agency that can fulfill any expectation you may have. Whether you prefer self-service travel plans where you do all of your own searching and booking, or a full-service online agency that handles every detail on your behalf, there are many options available. Depending on the type of travel you will be undertaking, there are also various options that you can consider among online travel agencies. Some specialize only in travel packages, while others offer a la carte menus of travel services for you to pick and choose.
There are several expectations, however, that are universal to all online travel agencies. These have to do with the minimum level of service provided and the quality and competitiveness of the types of travel being sold. It is best to qualify the online travel agency on all of these expectations before you choose to enter into partnership with them for the travel you are seeking to plan.
The first universal expectation that you should have for your online travel agency is having a variety of destinations and packages available to choose from. It does not matter what specialty the agency might have, from full-service travel to niche travel such as cruises or unusual destinations. No matter what is being sold, you always want to partner with an agency that provides options. While the first option you see may very well end up being the best choice or the best value, you will have no means of determining that unless other options are available for comparison. Good self-service travel sites will readily offer you comparison information. Full-service online travel agencies should compile that same information and present it to you when you are in the process of making a decision.
The second universal expectation you should have when using an online travel agency is that they offer the same basic types of vacations from more than one carrier or provider. For example, you can choose between two major airlines for the same New York-to-Miami flight leg of your trip. If an online travel agency represents only one brand, they are not truly a travel agency; instead, they are a representative of that brand. If only one brand were offered, customers would have no means of evaluating whether the services and products offered were of value or were worthless. Having a number of providers to choose from when selecting hotel or airfare or cruise line shows that the travel agency is actively updating its site with the best prices and options currently available.
The third universal expectation that you should have for your online travel agency is price competitiveness. Although travel agencies sometimes charge fees to travelers in order to off-set their cost of doing business, those fees must be fair. The charges for the actual travel services you see published through online travel agencies should be no more than what you would pay if you went directly through the provider, and, in fact, less if bundled with other services.
The final universal expectation that you should have for your online travel agency is a service-level guarantee that ensures you get what you pay for and are treated in a courteous and appropriate manner. Online travel agencies should also offer some form of a guarantee for your purchases that no foreseeable action on their part or the part of the service provider will interrupt your travel. They cannot warrant against freak or random occurrences, but they can ensure that their own offerings are solid before offered.
Perhaps the best thing about using an online agency is the availability of customer reviews and feedback you can read before making a final purchase. Another nice convenience, for repeat customers, is the ability to create your own customer profile that allows you to save certain options in your preferences that will streamline future vacation planning. You can save time and hassle by storing any corporate or membership discount numbers, frequent flyer numbers and other pertinent information on your customer profile.
The expectations you hold for the online travel agency you select as a partner may be varied. If they can uphold these four basic standards of quality, you can be assured that you are getting sound representation and the best deals available.
